Senior Structural Engineer

We're currently searching for a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in Structural Engineering. The Structural Engineer will participate in designing and detailing conveyor equipment, platforms, header steel, and other conveyor system components and will learn to take on more complex engineering responsibilities such as system layouts, structural design, and field support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.

  • Ability to use CAD and work with other engineers and designers in developing system design and support structures.

  • Perform structural design calculations per applicable codes, design & detail checking.

  • Preparation of design calculation packages for PE stamping.

  • PE stamping of design drawings and calculations for applicable states.

  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain structural and mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.

  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.

  • Recommend design modifications to optimize structural designs

  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.

  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including the selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.

  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

 

Education and Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil (Structural) Engineering. A combination of relevant work experience with industrial automation or material handling systems design may also qualify.

  • Experience with Structural design software such as Risa, Idea Static, and STAAD

  • Experience with CAD systems such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor.

  • Licensed/Registered Civil/Structural Professional Engineer in Michigan; multiple states preferred.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent communication skills, customer service, ability to work in a team and individually, and open to working in our office in Novi with the flexibility to work from home at times.

NX Tooling Designer

We are looking for an NX Tooling Designer with experience in body, paint, or general assembly (GA) tooling and GM data management experience.  Previous experience working on GM programs is required.   We offer a creative, collaborative, and challenging environment with competitive pay and benefits packages that include a 401(k)-retirement plan, paid holidays, and vacations. Job Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Daily interaction with Designers and Detailers regarding CAD files & documents

  • General Motors (GM) requirements knowledge to submit data. Teamcenter, NX/GM data management, GMD1 tooling design standards.

  • 3-5+ years of experience preferred

  • B.S. or A.S. degree in a technical field preferred

  • Experience in automotive BIW, paint, or GA tooling

  • Ability to work in our office in Novi, MI

  • Ability to communicate constructively and build relationships with engineers, designers, suppliers, and customers

  • Reviews and releases final engineering drawings to the manufacturing department

  • Identifying errors and corrections needed

  • Document information and changes related to mechanical design

  • Perform design and build buy-offs & quality checks

  • 5-10% travel to local tooling suppliers or customers.

Senior Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity with a growing company in Novi, Michigan.

Whether the project involves robot cells, large conveyor systems, custom material handling equipment, structural support, or massive structures, we need a dedicated individual to lead a team of engineers and designers through all phases of the process. 

 

Role: 

  • Provide engineering direction to a team of engineers and designers. 

  • Accurately track project schedule and open issues. 

  • Create and revise project drawings as required. 

  • Create and release purchased parts; materials equipment lists; approved work orders; and drawings to the shop and field. 

  • Attend customer bid-meetings, contract meetings and provide on-site field engineering. 

  • Accomplish quality project results by communicating job expectations, planning engineering tasks, and monitoring outcomes. 

  • Do whatever it takes to provide a superb outcome for the customer. 

  • Able to provide leadership and mentorship among team members; provide support and encourages collaboration. 

 

Technical Skills & Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; 5+ years of experience in conveyor engineering.

  • Able to apply engineering principals to analyze or evaluate mechanical or structural systems in detail. 

  • Knowledge of conveyors, material handling, production systems and structural steel elements. 

  • Operate CAD software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and/or Siemens NX. 

  • Operate Engineering software such as RISA, SkyCIV, or similar.  

  • Superior computer skills and well-versed in Microsoft Office tools.
